Brian Gingras, Sixth Grade Teacher

bgingras@odysseycharter.net
Hello my name is Brian Gingras. I went to school in
California at CSU Fresno (A.K.A. Fresno State) where I received my Bachelors
degree in Health Science-Community Health Option. I had originally planned
to go on and get my Masters degree in Physical Therapy & work in a P.T.
Clinic somewhere. However, after careful consideration, I realized that the
three main reasons for me to be a teacher were June, July, and August!
I also like the fact that I will have the same holiday schedule as my
children when they get into school. All kidding aside, I really enjoy
seeing "the light come on" when a child understands something for the first
time; or when they are able to accomplish something on their own that may
have been difficult in the past. So now my educational journey continues in
the ARL Program through the USOE.
Now for some real dirt, I mean information about me. I
was born in Colorado Springs, CO and moved to Utah when I was four. I grew
up in Provo and graduated from Provo High School. Okay, the actual growing
up part took place much later, alright, alright, it is part of
an ongoing process. I am the oldest of five children with two brothers and
two sisters. I have been married for over eight years and we have two boys
& one girl (three boys if you ask my wife, Janine). Kaden turned four on
May 19, 2007 and Keegan turned two on January 12, 2007 and Kelci was born on
May 15, 2007. Oh, I suppose you are wondering how old my wife's "other" boy
is, well he turned 36 on February 14, 2007.
My favorite place that I have traveled would have to be
Lake Tahoe. It is spectacular. Myrtle Beach, South Carolina is a close
second. I don't spend much time reading because I stay pretty active. I
love seafood, however it takes a lot to convince my wife to go to a seafood
restaurant with me because she detests seafood.
My hobbies include: softball, volleyball, basketball,
golf and racquetball. Softball is responsible for allowing me to travel.
It has taken me to Myrtle Beach, SC; Boise, ID; Steamboat, CO; Lake Tahoe,
CA; Modesto, CA, & St. George, UT. Of course, there are many other cities
and towns, but the places listed above were all big tournament sites, like
regionals, nationals, and worlds.
Well there isn't much more to me, or at least that I
will share with you now. I am looking forward to teaching your children and
helping them on their educational journey.
