I went into teaching after working with
children of single moms with Social Services and also with a Juvenile
Detention Center in San Diego. I completed my teaching degree after my
required fifth year at San Diego State University. I later went on to
California State University at Northridge for my Masters in Special
Education in Deaf Education. I have worked with Deaf students in grades 4th
to High School
and in traditional education in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6th. I have recently
completed 17 units endorsement in 'English as Second Language' teaching at
Weber State University.
My wife and I have two boys who are attending
community college and one is at the U of U. working his way towards Law
School.
I have traveled to many places because my
parents were in the Military as well as on my own travels. I have been to
Asia: Taiwan(4 yrs), Hong Kong, Philippines, Japan, and Okinowa--Europe:
England, Scotland, France, Holland, Austria, and Switzerland--North America: Canada and Mexico City. My favorite place to go
is Germany because it has so much history.
I like to camp, hike, canoe rivers, mountain
bike single track trails, fish, play the drums, and travel. I draw,
paint, and do stain glass, I also like doing family history research and
have self-published some research now stored in the Family History Library,
When we get a chance to eat out, we like to eat German and REAL Oriental
food.
