Sara Bannon, MSW

Sara is Odyssey's school counselor. Hello Everyone! This is my first year joining the staff and students at Odyssey as the school social worker. I grew up in Chicago and attended Illinois State University where I received by Bachelor’s in Social Work. I moved to Salt Lake City several years ago to work in a therapeutic wilderness program. I have also worked in a residential treatment center and a community service agency before attending graduate school to complete my Master's in Social Work from the University of Utah. I have always enjoyed working with youth, and have had a desire to become a school social worker for a long time.

My other passions in life include hiking, mountain biking, running, snowshoeing, skiing—and any other outdoor activities. I also have a small black lab named Sierra who accompanies me on many of my outdoor adventures.
