We can not
have any programs without your help. We still need someone to head our
fitness, debate, art and music clubs. Hopefully our chess, math, and
Italian clubs will be starting by next month. We are excited that
Madscience has already started. We still need volunteers to help at
carpool. Technology CommitteeIn this world of high-speed internet, wireless everything, email, web sites, and hard drives, Odyssey would grind to a complete stop without the Technology Committee to keep us all "online" and "connected." We are so grateful for all our "techies" who work behind the scenes, behind the wires and beneath the desk tops of our school. They have crawled through the ceilings dragging wires, lugged computers home in the dead of night for repairs, and never once stopped for a high-5 or a round of applause. Without these brilliant volunteers our emails would be forever lost in cyberspace, our Internet access would be unfiltered, and our phones would never ring. We may not understand html and java, but we are all grateful that these volunteers do! Thanks Technology Committee, and keep on surfing! Meet the Technology Committee:
Facilities - Playground Update!We are working on getting new Playground equipment!!! We are getting bids for adding to the existing playground equipment. Money has been allocated and we hope to have the bid process complete and installation begun by the end of September. In the meantime, we would like to do some other work on the playground and we need your help!!! The school owns two basketball standards that need to be cemented into the ground outside on the edge of the playground blacktop. The project would likely take two days, one to dig and cement and the next day to add and install the pole and backboard. Also, if you have painting equipment or would just be willing to help us in repainting 4-square and other things on the blacktop, please let us know. Anyone interested in helping should contact facilities@odysseycharter.net.
This is a great way to put in some
volunteer hours and also rejuvenate our playground for your kids!! Family Partnership Committee
The Family Partnership Committee has 15
subcommittees and holds the distinction of being the largest of the school
committees. It is also the most varied! Subcommittees range from gathering
volunteer hours to overseeing the lunch program to organizing room parents.
