Elementary Teacher
Job Description: Odyssey Charter School is a K-6 public charter school in its 7th year of operation. Odyssey will add an addtional teacher for the 2012-2013 school year to handle a growing enrollment. Odyssey uses a classical education approach to teach students. The school is also an Official Visitation school for Core Knowledge and uses Reading Mastery, Spalding and Saxon math. Grade level teachers will work collaboratively with other teachers within the grade to maximize student learning while addressing students' different levels and learing styles.
Qualifications: All qualified applicants will be a certified teacher with a current and valid Utah license. Experience with Saxon math, Core Knowledge, Reading Mastery, Spalding, and Professional Learning Communities are recommended but not required. Applicants must demonstrate that they are able to plan, prepare, and carry out a lesson plan using various teaching techniques. The ability to plan differentiated lessons is a must and applicants must be able to gear lessons according to the level of particular students. Applicants must use assessments frequently to guide teaching. Odyssey is looking for someone able to work with and communicate well with parents frequently and in a professional manner. We are looking for someone who will uphold the highest standards and expectations and has the confidence that they will reach those expectations.
