Aloha,

My name is Amber Daley, and I am so excited to teach another year here at Odyssey Charter School! I grew up in the Bay Area of California, where I played soccer, did butterfly on the swim team, ran cross-country, and pitched in softball.

Upon graduating, I went off to Hawaii for my college education. I graduated from BYU-Hawaii Campus where I had a blast learning the hula and surfing after school! I worked at the Polynesian Cultural Center as a waitress and usher.  I came to love the Hawaiian culture, and still use its influence of love and aloha in my own classroom.

I have six kids, ranging from 20 years old down to 4 years old, and a grandbaby.  We have a fun and crazy household!  My husband is 6 ft 8, and has to duck his head when he walks through my classroom door.  I love camping, exercising, singing, playing with my kids, and reading every kid book that I can get my hands on, such as Far World, Fablehaven, Harry Potter, Candy Shop Wars, and Shel Silverstein, and many more.  My favorite movies are: Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland, Thor, Tangled, James and the Giant Peach, and Star Wars.  I love to read comic books about super heroes, and my favorite comic strip is Calvin and Hobbes.  My favorite holiday is Halloween and my favorite season is fall.  I love to eat black licorice, walk barefoot outside, and ride motorcycles.

Teaching fifth grade is one of my favorite things to do in life because the kids at that age are so much fun and full of life! They keep me young and make me laugh on a daily basis.  I just know that we will have gobs-o-fun together this year, and I look forward to meeting and loving all of you!

With love and Aloha,

      Mrs. Daley
