Katharine Jewell- Instructor

Hi, please call me Kat; this will be my first year at Odyssey. Thank you for this opportunity. I look forward to an exciting year of teaching and being taught by the children..

I was born in Long Island, New York. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Elementary Education.  I previously had the pleasure of working in a variety of areas.  The ATAC Center at UVSU teaching reading and math, overseeing the computer learning center, and assisting students with individual learning plans and registration. I was a Director/Instructor for Child’s Play Preschool for 8 years, developing curriculum and teaching.  I had an opportunity to work with my wonderful husband Alan Jewell and be an Executive Director for Animation Creation where I got to delve into the world of 3D.  The past five years I had the delight of teaching science and the annual class at American Heritage.

I have six awesome children ranging in age from 11 to 20, two dogs, two turtles, a bunny, and a snake.  Friends would say that I never keep still, when I am not with my kids I love to go dancing, read a book, cook, take pictures, scrapbook on line and off, see every animated movie ever made (good and bad), play games, crafts, bike rides, traveling (Israel is my favorite), etc. The most priceless is time spent with family, friends, and the wonderful world of teaching. I am a forever learner.
