I was born and raised in Hackensack, New Jersey, which is eight miles west of New York City, hence, my eastern accent. While still in High School I enlisted in the US Naval Reserve and from the reserve I received an appointment to the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. Upon graduation I selected Marine Corps aviation and attended and graduated from flight school at Pensacola, Florida. I spent the next 20 years in the US Marine Corps, both as a helicopter pilot and in lnformation Technology. During my Marine Corps career I attended the Naval Post Graduate School at Monterey, California receiving a Masters Degree in Management. After retirement from the Marine Corps, I spent the next 21 years working for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in both their lnformation Technology and Purchasing Departments, retiring as the Contract Manager for all church technology. I have also been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Phoenix, Salt Lake Campus for 19 years, teaching classes in Computer Science and Mathematics. I have traveled extensively in the Far East, Europe, South America and the Caribbean. I am starting my fourth year at Odyssey Charter School and love the challenge of bring Mathematics alive for your children. REMEMBER: "Math is fun and numbers are your friends." |
