My name is Robin Merrill, and I have to start by saying how excited I am to be teaching at Odyssey and to be working with your children!

As a bit of history, I lived in several states when I was young before settling in southeast Idaho.  I played a lot of sports as a teenager and also fell in love with learning and reading while in high school.  I knew then that I wanted to become a teacher.  I studied English, Spanish and Education at BYU and spent a year and a half living in Ecuador.  After returning to Utah, I taught Spanish until completing my degree.  Upon graduating, I taught Jr. High English and Special Ed.  I later returned and obtained a Master’s in Elementary Education and a Utah State Reading Endorsement.  I am also a certified Spalding Teacher Instructor.

I appreciate the excitement for learning at our school!  I believe in a continual learning process and find great satisfaction in learning and teaching.  It is very rewarding to see a child learn something new and express excitement with an enthusiastic look in their eyes and a broad smile across their face as they understand something new.  I absolutely love teaching!

I am married and have three beautiful girls.  We enjoy skiing in the winter and scuba diving with the giant turtles in the oceans of Maui.  I love sunsets and I’m a true believer that the movie is never as good as the book.
