The Shurley English Program is based on quick-paced and active instruction that uses multisensory methods. Children recite jingles as they learn all parts of speech and sentence structure, read sentences and identify patterns and parts of speech, and write sentences and stories using proper form and grammar. They learn to identify and use nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, articles, and prepositions, and will write and identify subjects, predicates, direct objects, and objects of prepositions. Repetition and review are important parts of each lesson and ensure that children use and maintain proper language and grammar patterns.
