Jaime Holst, BA SP Special Education Paraeducator

jholst@odysseycharter.net I was born and raised in Stillwater, Minnesota. I attended college at the University of Minnesota and received a BA in speech communications. One week after graduation I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii where I lived for six years. It was in Hawaii that I first started working in schools. I worked one on one with a student with Autism for over two years as his full time aide. It was during this time that I decided that working in special education was what I wanted to do as my career.

While living in Hawaii I met my husband, Matt, who by the way grew up only twenty minutes away from me in Minnesota. In Hawaii Matt and I enjoyed lazy days spent by the pool or at any of the amazing beaches that Hawaii has to offer. During my summers off I like to try and make it to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in northern Minnesota, to spend time canoeing and camping with friends from home. My entire family lives in Minnesota and so I love going there every chance that I can.

As of April 2008 I am now a mom! My daughter is the greatest thing that has happened to me (& of course my wonderful husband). She is the sweetest little girl with a huge personality. She takes up all of my free time right now so I guess that my hobbies include staring at her all day and being constantly amazed by her! Check back in a few months and maybe I will be enjoying hobbies again.

I have been at Odyssey since the first year and in that time I have worn many hats. I am excited to face the challenge of becoming Odyssey's Assessment Director. I will also be continuing to work with Ms. Jepperson in the Special Education Department.

Paige Crawley, M.S. CCC-SLP

Paige grew up in Texas but has lived in Utah for the last 23 years. She spent 2 and a half years in Monument, Colorado. She graduated with a Bachelors and Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Brigham Young University. She received her Certificate of Clinical Competence after graduation and has been a member of the American Speech Language and Hearing Association since 1990. Paige specializes in working with children from as young as 18 months through high school age. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings including school districts, clinics and private practice.

Paige has experience in working with children with a variety of challenges including autism, hearing impairment, ADHD, Aspergers, apraxia, Down's syndrome, stuttering, premature births as well as teenagers in a rehab setting. Paige enjoys getting to know her students and finding out what their needs are to help them become better communicators.

Paige and her husband have six children who are very active in sports, music, and other activities. When she has free time she enjoys reading, sewing, and working in her yard and garden.

Mark Schneck, Special Ed Teacher

This is my first year at Odyssey Charter School.  I am originally from Connecticut and graduated from Brigham Young University. In college, I played rugby and lacrosse. After graduation, I worked in the high-tech industry for many years. My job took me to San Diego, New York City and Salt Lake City. While I enjoyed the business world, I discovered that my real passion was helping kids reach their full potential. I have coached lacrosse and worked at Oak Canyon Junior High. I’m glad to be at Odyssey and consider it a privilege to work with the great students and staff. Outside the classroom, I enjoy cycling, running, reading, and cooking (I am known for my chocolate chip cookies). I also enjoy spending time with my wife and three daughters.
