Hi! My name is Becky Smith. I have worked as an instructor at Odyssey for more than ten years, and I am excited to work with the children. I have spent the majority of my time at Odyssey working with the fifth grade students, but I love them all. Elementary school is such an important time as these children are starting to grow and learn more about who they are and what they want to be. Education has always been important to me. I have a bachelor of Science degree from BYU. I love to study anything I can get my hands on. I volunteer at the State Science Fair every year. School should be a place that children are excited to come to and feel like it is worth their time.  I want them to feel safe, appreciated, and heard. I try to make sure children know that I recognize the hard work they put in. I will do my best to support the children and teachers in their educational journey. I love to read and to learn. I especially love the sciences. I’ve volunteered or worked with elementary school children for over 20 years. When I am not at Odyssey, I coach a high-school level FTC robotics team. They have won the Utah State championship more than once and have earned the chance to compete in the World Championship and World premier events three times (so far). In addition to coaching robotics, I love to spend time with my family, and walk and hike in the mountains.  I also love to crochet, do artwork and read.
