Joanna Baginska
Teacher
Room 212
My name is Joanna Baginska, and I am excited to be teaching 6th grade this year! While this is my first year in 6th grade, I bring many years of experience to the classroom, having taught 4th grade for nine years and 5th grade for another nine years.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Political Science and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Warmia and Mazury in Poland, as well as an Educational Technology Endorsement.
In 2023, I was honored to be nominated for Utah Teacher of the Year, an experience that reflected my passion for education and dedication to student success. I am known for creating a classroom environment that is both engaging and academically rigorous, where students are encouraged to work hard, take pride in their accomplishments, and always strive to do their best.
I believe that learning should be meaningful, hands-on, and inspiring. My students regularly participate in science experiments, creative projects, collaborative activities, and technology-rich learning experiences designed to spark curiosity and deepen understanding.
Most importantly, I genuinely care about each of my students and their future. To me, success is about much more than grades. I strive to help students develop confidence, independence, perseverance, critical thinking skills, and a growth mindset. I want them to understand that mistakes are valuable opportunities to learn and grow, and that effort and resilience are key ingredients for success in school and in life.
Outside of the classroom, I love spending time outdoors. Whether I’m hiking, camping, skiing, or exploring Utah’s beautiful mountains and deserts, I enjoy every opportunity to embrace adventure and connect with nature.
